Goodrich 1st XI entertained Garnons 1st XI in the final GB Marches League Division 1 game of the 2011 season.
In a game to decide who was runner up in the league, it was a shame the weather wanted to join in, after the summer that had gone before.
The deluge that came down on Friday evening produced an inch of water sitting on top of the Goodrich square on Friday night.
The hard work of skipper Andy Brown produced a wicket out of the puddle so the final game could be played.
With a vital toss won by Brown, Garnons were asked to bat first and face the determined M Bradford and J O'Brien.
Bradford returned one for 21 off his 12 overs and O'Brien returned one for 17 from his first eight overs.
R Bastable and R Davies replaced the openers but both went for five an over.
Determined batting saw Pearson-Gregory (69) and J Debenham (24) put on a 70 partnership and increase the run rate.
