Students at Wyedean have achieved the school's best ever set of GCSE results. Nearly 70 per cent of Year 11 students achieved at least five A* to C grades, including English and maths, an increase of over 15 per cent on last year's figures. There were many outstanding individual achievements, as Wyedean students racked up a record number of 374 A* and A grades. Headteacher Clive Pemberton said: "I am absolutely delighted for our students, who have worked so hard to get these outstanding results. "I am also delighted for the teaching staff at Wyedean; the school has been under a lot of pressure in the last 12 months, and every member of staff at Wyedean has shown fantastic commitment to ensure that our students fulfil their potential. "These results are richly deserved, and show that once again Wyedean is delivering top quality education for all our students." For more photos, visit monmouthshirebeacon.newsprints.co.uk
