The passing-out parade is a traditional ceremony that marks the transition from trainee police officer to probationer.
26 more trainees are set to arrive this month and a further recruitment drive is planned for early next year.
The Force is pleased that intakes have included more officers from minority ethnic communities, which has been achieved through targeted recruitment activities including community-based drop-ins and awareness sessions.
Chief Constable of Gwent Police, Julian Williams said: “I am proud and delighted to welcome these 50 new officers. The experience, knowledge and skills they bring with them will be invaluable in protecting the communities of Gwent.
“I congratulate these officers and look forward to working with them to make Gwent a safer place for everyone.”
The funding of the Force and the provision of policing services form part of PCC Jeff Cuthbert’s statutory duties and it is his responsibility to ensure that Gwent has appropriate levels of policing to meet the requirements of local communities.
Welcoming the new recruits, he said: “These additional 50 officers, along with the many others we have recruited, will ensure that we maintain frontline policing while investing in tackling emerging issues such as cybercrime.”
