WYE Valley Music’s next concert is on Sunday June 16th at 4pm, and they are delighted to welcome back the international prizewinning violinist Simone Pirri and his baroque band, Esplumoir, to the Bridges Centre in Monmouth.

In April 2023, their concert sold out at the same venue with a programme of Corelli, Handel and Telemann string trios and WVM expect this concert featuring Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to do the same.

Simone Pirri’s reputation as an exponent of period performance sees him featuring regularly with some of the world’s best known early music groups, including Brecon Baroque, Arcangelo, La Serenissima, The English Concert and Ensemble Diderot, with whom he won a Diapason d’Or.

In making The Four Seasons, Vivaldi’s revolutionary violin concerti the highlight of their concert, Simone Pirri and Esplumoir promise a period performance that will pare this legendary composition back to its essentials, giving the welcome opportunity to hear it afresh, as close as one can get to its original glory.

WVM is lucky enough to enjoy tremendous support from local audiences and as a ‘thank you’ for all this support over 57 years of concert seasons, all ticket holders are invited to a reception at Bridges at 3pm with the concert following at 4pm
