Monmouth Male Voice Choir are holding their third Spring Charity Concert at Bridges Centre on Saturday 8th March 7.30pm. Following the success of their two previous charity concerts, the choir is anticipating another sell out audience and this year supporters can enjoy two fabulous choirs for the price of one!
Joining MMVC will be the renowned Dunvant Male Choir from Swansea. Dunvant, formed in 1895, boast the title of the oldest continuous male choir in Wales and are acknowledged as one of the country’s more accomplished choirs. Under the leadership of Jonathan Rogers they have won all major choral competitions open to male choirs and have performed in prestigious venues all over the world.
Monmouth Male Voice Choir, in contrast, were only formed in 2012 but claim to be one of the fastest growing choirs in the country and, under the leadership of their young, dynamic Musical Director, Lewis Hutton, have already recruited almost 80 choristers. In their short history the choir has also performed at some fantastic venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Principality Stadium, the US Ambassador’s residence in London and have even recorded at the world famous Rockfield Studios.
All at Monmouth Male Voice Choir are delighted to welcome their friends from Swansea, having previously enjoyed the west Walians’ hospitality back in 2022, when the choirs joined forces for a concert in Oystermouth.
This year, the concert will help raise funds for “Friends of the River Wye”. So if you enjoy male voice singing and care about the once pristine, River Wye, come along and support, what promises to be a memorable evening of song.
