The Blake Theatre hosted an unforgettable evening with Monty Don and Kate Humble last Friday.
Celebrity gardener Monty Don had recently hit the headlines following his rush to hospital in November last year, forcing him to cancel his tour dates.
The Gardener's World star, who is based in Herefordshire, revealed that he had been suffering from a mystery illness and had been to A&E. But announced later that month on social media he was "getting better".
Both Don and Humble are patrons of the charity Bees for Development and gave up their time to help raise funds through the ticket sales for the charity.
The event proved to be an engaging and inspiring experience, where two of the UK’s most beloved figures in gardening and sustainable living shared their insights and expertise.
Monty Don, chatted with fellow Patron Kate Humble, sharing unique insights about his life, his love of gardening, and the values they both champion. The conversation also highlighted the impactful work of Bees for Development, a charity dedicated to empowering communities through sustainable beekeeping, alleviating poverty, and promoting ecological harmony.
The evening finished with a raffle for the generous prizes donated by supporters of Bees for Development
This special event was organised as a fundraiser for Bees for Development, with all proceeds from ticket sales generously donated by the Blake Theatre, along with Monty Don and Kate Humble’s time. Attendees directly supported the charity’s mission to empower communities, alleviate poverty, and promote biodiversity through sustainable beekeeping practices.
Bees for Development is an international charity committed to sustainable beekeeping as a means to alleviate poverty and protect biodiversity. Working in communities worldwide, the organisation supports beekeepers with resources and training, enabling them to thrive while caring for their local environment.
