THIS Sunday (August 18) sees the return of the bi-annual Penallt Classic car and motorbike show.

The family friendly event has been running since 2005, except for a brief hiatus during Covid, and takes place on the cricket pitch at Pelham Hall, a stone's throw from Monmouth.

Unlike most Classic car shows there is no fixed time for arrival and participating Classic cars can come and go as they please.

The show kicks off at 1pm with live music from ‘Borderlines’ performing Rock, Soul and Blues favourites, and finishes around 5pm.

The bar will be open alongside tea and cakes which will be sold to raise money for the Old Church.

Super Cod will also be in attendance for those wishing to feast on Ben’s fish, a pie or sausage and chips.

And there will be rosettes and prizes for Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show and Judges Special.

Participating cars attend free as do under 18s, with entry £2 per adult.

A spokesperson said: "Please come and support our show. The weather looks like it's going to be kind to us, so it would be lovely to see you and your cherished classic should you have one."
