The Newport Gwent Dragons players were out promoting sport in the community this afternoon with a successful visit to Chepstow Comprehensive which reached over 150 primary school children in the region.
Children from Pembroke, Thornwell, Shirenewton and Llandogo primary schools attended the event also supported by the successful year 10/11 rugby team of Chepstow Comprehensive.
The day was an ideal opportunity for many youngsters to have their first taste of rugby with hands-on coaching from the Dragons players.
Gail Roberts of Llandogo Primary was grateful to the Dragons players involved, stating:
"Their interaction has definitely enhanced the pupils experience, and will undoubtedly have an effect on some youngsters taking part in the sport more frequently. We look forward in visiting Rodney Parade in the future to support the boys."
Newport Gwent Dragons James Harris added:
"It's great to get out into the community especially when the response from each of the schools is so positive. The Dragons players seemed to be having as much fun as the children and whether the children pursue rugby or any other sport, I'm pleased that the Dragons were able to support them this afternoon."
