THE Community Affairs Committee of Monmouth Town Council would like your views on the future running of The Shire Hall.

Monmouthshire County Council has employed consultants to assess its cultural attractions. The consultants have written to the Town Council, asking how the public values the museum and Shire Hall. Before a reply is submitted town councillors are seeking the views of all Monmouth residents.

The meeting will take place at 7pm next Monday (15th June) in the Council Chamber, Shire Hall.

Contrary to quite erroneous invented 'quotes' on social media, there is absolutely no threat of the closure of the Shire Hall.

On Tuesday 5th May a lively and positive meeting came up with many varied and original ideas concerning Monmouth's Nelson Museum. On Monday 15th June the discussion will be extended to include Monmouth's Shire Hall. It will, again, be run as a workshop so that there will be an opportunity for everyone to record their views.
