PLANS to build a new wind turbine in Tidenham received mixed reviews at Chepstow Town Council last week (27th May).
The wind turbine measures in at 87m and, if approved, will be visible from Chepstow to Woolaston.
Several councillors expressed concern over the vast amount of public opposition received over the plans.
Councillor Yvonne Havard for the St Kingsmark ward said: "There is a lot of local opposition to this with plenty of signs scattered around.
"I've got concerns and I would sympathise with them."
Councillor Peter Farley for St Mary's ward, said: "I'm struck by the recurring theme of renewable energy. People seem to be supportive of renewable energy but not wind turbines.
"I would support renewable energy but I don't know in this case if turbines are the way to do it."
