Sir, Monmouth Town Council have recently launched a newsletter to the residents living in the Monmouth Town Council area. If you have not received your copy of the newsletter, please contact one of your local ward members. Once you have completed the questionnaire, you can post your reply in boxes at the following locations; The Bridges Community Centre, the E E Shop, the Shire Hall and the Wyesham Post Office, or via email to [email protected]">[email protected] In September, it is planned to hold open surgeries in various locations within the town to enable residents to discuss with members their opinions in regard to the future spending of the town council. The council is eager to communicate with its electors in regard to this particular issue. I am sure that we are all aware of the potential cutbacks on services provided by the Monmouthshire County Council. Later in the year, the town council will have to set its budget for 2015-2016. When the budget is set, the town council will have to decide whether or not to either; take on additional services or subsidise services that are at the moment provided by the Monmouthshire County Council. In view of this situation we as a town council would like feedback from the community of Monmouth. Cllr Terry Christopher. (Chair Monmouth Town Council Consultation Working Group)
