On the 12th of March 2025, professionals from across social care, health and education were invited to Monmouthshire County Council's Festival of Family Support.

Held at County Hall, Usk, the event allowed professionals from across the county and wider to speak to council teams who support children, young people, and families and to learn more about the services available to them and the people they support daily.

The event aimed to develop the collaborative work between education, health service and the council teams across the county.

Some of the teams that showcased their services included: Building Strong Families; School and Community Counselling; Achieving Change Together Team; Foster Wales Monmouthshire; Family Resolution Team; S.P.A.C.E Wellbeing Panel (Single Point of Access to Child Emotional Wellbeing); Monmouthshire Youth Service; Creative therapies; Action for Children.

Monmouthshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Social Care, Safeguarding and Accessible Health Services, Cllr Ian Chandler, said: "We all know of the pressures that are currently being felt by children, young people and families and the services that support them. As an organisation, we are proud of the work we continue to do to support the most vulnerable in our communities.

"This event allowed professionals to gain further knowledge of the services available and also to get to know the teams that work within those services."

"As a council, we'll continue to work with other organisations to secure the best possible service to all our residents."
