THIS Foster Care Fortnight (15th-28th May 2023), people across Monmouthshire have come together to show their support for fostering.
Local traders, construction workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and more, joined Monmouthshire’s cabinet member for social care and people from Monmouthshire’s children’s services team to show how important fostering is.
Kind, caring people are being encouraged to consider fostering with their not-for-profit local authority so children can remain in their local area, be close to their friends and family and remain in their school wherever possible.
This is so important to help children and young people retain their sense of identity during a time of transition. It keeps them connected and helps to build stability and confidence.
Cllr. Tudor Thomas, cabinet member for social care said: “This foster care fortnight, we’re linking up across Monmouthshire to show our support for fostering. I would like to thank all of our foster carers – you all make such a difference to local children, your dedication is incredible.
“If you are considering fostering please contact us or come along to one of our local events that are taking place across Monmouthshire this foster care fortnight.”
