The agents for the proposed Health Centre in Osbaston are holding a public consultation meeting 30 Jan 2025 11am -7pm at the Shire Hall.

The new site in Osbaston is planned to provide additional clinical accommodation that can be utilised by Castle Gate Medical Practice, the Wye Valley Practice and the ABUHB.

A spokesman for the ABUHB said: “A proposal is currently being considered to fund a new building to incorporate not only Dixton Surgery, but also other vital Primary Care Health and Wellbeing services.

"This proposal is still at a very early stages of planning and no decision has yet been made on whether it will go ahead.

"The existing Dixton Surgery building is not owned by the Health Board."

Asbri Planning Ltd were commissioned by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) to progress a Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) in respect of an Outline Planning Application (with all matters reserved) for the development of a Health and Wellbeing Centre and associated works on land at Osbaston Road, Monmouth. The PAC ran from 25th October to 22nd November 2025.

The Health and Wellbeing Centre is proposed to include a range of services, such as GP services, treatment rooms, a community pharmacy, and multi-functional non-clinical rooms. The aim of this new facility is to improve healthcare access and enhance services for the local community.

A large number of representations were received from the local community during the consultation period. In response, ABUHB will be holding a public engagement event to provide an opportunity for members of the public to view information about the proposed facility and discuss the plans with the technical design team and representatives from Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

At the event, there will be boards displaying detailed plans of the development, and members of the team will be available to answer any questions you may have
