Local talent Adam Oaten made a dedicated daily round trip of 80 miles from Monmouth to train with the Pontypridd school’s squad who entered the Dewar Shield competition 2024, the oldest schools' tournament in world rugby, as underdogs but emerged victorious, clinching a 34-28 win against the Cardiff schools.

Adam, who embarked on his rugby journey just 18 months ago, has proudly been named Forward of the Year for 2024.
