A TOTAL of £8,000 has been shared between 14 community groups as part of a town council grant scheme.

Community groups were invited to apply for funding by Monmouth Town Council earlier this year, and each project was assessed by a panel of councillors.

The fourteen who received a cheque from Councillors Felicity Cotton and Claudia Blair on Monday, 13th November were: Kids Cancer Charity (Christian Lewis Trust); Monmouth Bereavement Support Group; Home-Start Monmouth; Jean Mullis Monmouth Parkinson’s Group; Monshire Self-help and the Friendship Group.

Others were; Monmouth Women’s Festival Organising Committee; Transition Monmouth; Monmouth Waldbronn Twinning Association; Community Champions of Monmouth; Monnow Swimming Club; St Johns Ambulance; Mayhem Youth Theatre; Savoy Youth Theatre Academy and Wyesham Wanderers Football Club.
