A TOTAL of £461.25 was raised at Llanfair Kilgeddin village hall on Friday 27th September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support's 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning'.

The event was organised by local resident John Collin and his family who have received fantastic support from the Macmillan nurses over recent years.

Many local people donated cakes and took part in a raffle. Among those who attended were Monmouth MP David Davies, county councillor Sara Jones and community councillor Ron Adam.

Cllr Sara Jones said: "This is the second year that John and his family have hosted a coffee morning and yet again we've seen a great turnout with some fantastic contributions from the local community."

Mr Davies added: "Everyone knows someone who is affected by cancer and it's comforting to know that charities like Macmillan are there to help and support those in need."
