A concert was held in the Bridges celebrating St Patrick with the sounds of the Celtic Collectors Folk group, recreating the classic songs from the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, the Dubliners, the Fureys and many more.
All the group members live in Monmouth, their formation started with several parishioners from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church here in Monmouth. The group now boasts eleven members including seven musicians on guitar, mandolin, banjo. double bass, bodhran and violin.
The aim of the group is raising money for charity, since its inception in June 2023 they have raised nearly £16,000 pounds for various local charities.
The concert on the night raised £680 for Bridges Centre, Reach Out Monmouthshire and EnviroAbility based in Ross-on-Wye.
