Members of Sharon’s School of Dance, Sedbury (run by Sharon Stent) and their families and friends joined hundreds of others for a chilly New Year’s Day 2023 dip in the sea at Saundersfoot, West Wales.

The swim is organized by Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Ltd in West Wales and tops up the funds raised by many individual groups participating.

Saundersfoot New Years Day Swim is an annual event (reinstated this year following the pandemic).

This activity continues to demonstrate positive outcomes in terms of fundraising activities carried out by various individuals and groups, working together across a range of geographical locations, especially important in the times that we now live.

£410 was raised locally through the generosity of ‘Sharon’s School of Dance’ dancers and their local contacts. These monies were increased further to a total of £510 by Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim Organisers which was received recently at an Awards Ceremony held in Saundersfoot.

Sharon said “Once again this has been a great effort from dancing colleagues who not only work hard and have fun on the dance floor but also have fun and raise funds by bearing the temperatures of a chilly dip in the Saundersfoot sea in the heart of winter.”
