The Monmouthshire Hunt continued its traditional New Year meet at Monmouth Castle with 30 horses and riders ready to follow the hounds to hunt within the law.
Supporters turned out to greet the riders and the hounds were a special favourite with the younger followers.
Joint Master David Harrison thanked Mr and Mrs Mant for supplying refreshments and Andrew Tuggey for arranging access to the castle premises. He continued to thank everyone for their continued support adding "all being well, we will see you all again next year".
Hosted by the Coach and Horses Pub on Welsh Street, the Hunt saw another fantastic turn out, with about 65 supporters mounted on horses, and hundreds lining the streets on foot.
The New Year's Day Meet, one of the most famous and popular Meets of the year, is traditionally held on the first of the month nationwide, however it was pushed back by one day due to New Year's Day falling on a Sunday.
