On 19th October, more than a hundred people, representing human rights groups and charities from across Wales, came together for the Amnesty Wales Conference.
Elin Jones, Presiding Officer of the Senedd gave the opening remarks, and attendees heard more about Amnesty’s latest work from the organisation’s Director Kate Allen.
The day was a joyous celebration of the power of human rights activism in Wales and beyond.
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people from across the country who share an extraordinary passion for a wide range of human rights, from fighting climate change to welcoming refugees.
In Wales and around the world, people from all walks of life are standing up for justice, equality and human rights. The conference came at a critical time when we are witnessing unprecedented attacks on human rights defenders.
The Monmouth Amnesty group is proud to offer our support so they can continue to campaign for what is right and fair for all of us.
Even the smallest actions can make a big difference. We can all be human rights defenders.
