MONMOUTH AM Nick Ramsay has paid tribute to Eliot Lewis, former landlord of The Beaufort Arms Hotel, Raglan who has died following a short illness at the age of 45.

Mr Lewis’ funeral took place at Raglan’s St Cadoc’s Church on Friday 24th August.

Mr Lewis was based at The Beaufort from 2002 to 2015 before moving to the Greyhound in Tetbury.

Speaking yesterday (28th August) Mr Ramsay said: “I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Eliot Lewis, well known to so many in Monmouthshire from his time at The Beaufort in Raglan. 

“Eliot became a good friend over the years and I will always remember him for his friendliness and generosity of spirit. 

“Our thoughts are with his wife Jana and the family at this difficult time.”
