SIR, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who supported the Dave Roberts Charity Golf Day last Friday which resulted in the fantastic sum of £4,104.50 being given to our local Great Oaks Hospice. The support given by the players taking part and those who either gave prizes or bought raffle tickets will be very much appreciated by all those who use the services at Great Oaks. Team winners were John Richards, A. Richards, N. Roberts and J. Turner with team runners up of John Freeman, Martyn Walker, Dave Baker and Rob Freeman. Individual winner was Ed Breton with Richard Thomas as runner-up. Anne Wall was the Individual Ladies Winner and Paul Harvey, Ed Breton and Geoff Hester won nearest the pin. I would like to thank the local companies who sponsored holes and supported this day namely Bell Homes, The Belfry, DJB Cleaning Supplies, Winner Garage, Coleford Leisure, Jon Daunter, Morgan Engineering, Teyron Engineering, Pete Smith, SWM Insulations, Newspace Containers, B & R Lewis, Forest Products, Castle Energy Services, Dean Garage Doors, T.H. Haskett & Son, Genesis Timber and E.H. Smith. Special thanks must go to Keith Bell for his support of my charity golf days and also to the team at Forest Hills, especially Gavin from the pro shop and my daughter-in-law Tammy, without whom the day would not run so smoothly.
