THE Nelson Garden in Monmouth will be a hive of activity later this month for the second Monmouthshire Bee Festival.
Town charity Bees for Development organised the first Monmouth Bee Festival in 2012.
Celebrating World Day of Bees, the second Monmouthshire Bee Festival will be held on Saturday 20th May between 11am and 4pm. Bees for Development and Bee-friendly Monmouthshire are leading the event, with involvement from other groups including Monmouthshire Meadows.
There will be bee-related activities throughout the town, like honey tasting, plant stalls and talks with experienced beekeepers, and Bee-friendly Monmouthshire’s Hedgerow Manifesto will be launched the evening before at Green and Jenks Gelato House.
There will also be a competition for the best bee-related jokes, with prizes to be handed out by comedian and Monmouth resident Miles Jupp.
