Trellech Primary School is the first school in Monmouthshire, and one of only a few schools in Wales, to have been recognised by the British Council for the work the staff and children have undertaken in Developing Internationalism. The children, through their Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship (ESDGC) lessons, have studied their role in the World and how their actions affect other‚s lives and environments. They are very active in supporting charities all over the world and are part of an International Project to develop literacy through cultural stories. Trellech has partner school in six different countries across Europe and are linked to a school in India and another school in Africa. The Headteacher, Susan Eriksson, is very keen to develop the children's understanding of themselves as citizens, not just of Wales or Britain but Internationally, ESDGC is becoming very important in the Curriculum and children need to be very aware of the world and how their actions may affect theirs and others lives,
