A 23-year-old Monmouth man who was reported as missing earlier last week has been found dead.
Jacob Picken was last seen in the vicinity of St Mary's Church, Monmouth on Wednesday 5th February.
At around 3.45pm on Friday 7th February, the body of a man was found in the Kymin area of Monmouth by Gwent Police officers.They have now confirmed that the man has been formally identified as 23-year-old Jacob Picken.
Officers are not treating the death as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said:"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Jacob at this difficult time".
His family and friends paid tribute to the popular member of Monmouth Rugby Football Club, saying how much he would be missed.
His dad, Rob Picken thanked the police and the emergency services "for all you have done in the past few days" adding "our hearts are broken for the loss of the gentlest soul".
